The iconic Balmoral Beach Club (BBC), www.balmoralbeachclub.com.au, in Sydney Australia has adopted the Orbis Marketing software solution. The Club will utilise the Marketing Knowledge Centre module to manage and distribute its many thousands of digital archive materials, including images; video; and historical documents.
The Club was conceived by number of young Mosman men, who called themselves “The Smugglers”. They used to meet regularly to swim in the Harbour and decided to form an official social and swimming club. A meeting was called in the local Town on 12 February 1914 and the BBC was established. The Club’s archive goes back 95 years and is a rich vein of history, of not only the Club but also of the Balmoral area in general, regarded by many as the most beautiful urban beach in the world.
The solution will enable the Club to distribute content to its 2,500 members in a controlled and user-friendly way. Whilst storing content in its highest quality form, the system will re-purpose content on the fly to suit specific members’ purposes. Robust controls have also been put in place ensuring the archive will always be available for generations to come.
This initiative brings to life the invaluable archive that has for so many decades been locked away with no easy way for members to access it.
